Counselling Services in London

Do you want to move forward in your life, but find it a challenge just to stand still?

We all have times when the pressures and responsibilities of life or work can seem too much. Stress and anxiety don’t just occur when we are in unhappy situations. Sometimes even contemplating making the needed changes to our lives can be as stressful, as staying where we are.

Counselling and psychotherapy can help you wherever you are in your life and whatever the problems or dilemmas you are facing or changes you are looking to make.

I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and AFT Member with more than 20 years’ experience in Private Practice & the NHS working with individuals, couples and families. I offer counselling across a wide range of issues and problems we can all face at times.

Common issues include relationships, anxiety, stress, depression and bereavement, but these are broad headings, and not a definitive list. Often the issues people have that they are seeking counselling for are more loosely defined or even undefined. Problems often start with a feeling that something isn’t quite right, it may be a sense of dissatisfaction, loneliness, feeling trapped or it may just be that you feel stuck in a situation or a way of living that leaves you feeling that something is missing from your life.

As well as the causes being varied and sometimes hard to define, the way they manifest themselves vary between individuals. Our lives, history and make up all have an influence on how we respond to the situations we find ourselves in, and the type of therapy that works best for us depends on the person we are.

With extensive experience of counselling individuals, couples, families and clinical supervision of other therapists, I have gained invaluable understanding of the stresses and strains that can negatively impact on a person, relationship or family’s life in particular the causes, how we respond to them, and more importantly how to tackle them. As a Systemic psychotherapist, my approach is conversational and includes a range of Relationship, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Stress and Anxiety reduction techniques in working with clients towards a better life experience going into their future. In addition, delivering training and supervision on a number of MA and MSc. Therapy and Supervision programmes over the years contributes greatly to my continued development in the field.
